Leeds 2011
The recession seems to have affected festival attendance this year – someone told me that Leeds for the first time had not sold-out. It was cold and windy. Jane’s Addiction didn’t play which was a shame. Not much else to report really.
- The Bronx
- Glass Jaw
- Jimmy Eat World
- The King Blues
Bloodstock 2011
Such a good festival to work at. Surprise “hottie” of the day was Barney Greenway from Napalm Death – newly slimmed down and a fresh haircut. He still did his pointy finger shakey dance though. The chap from 1349 wasn’t bad either – not sure if it’s healthy to fancy people from TNBM bands?
- Primordial
- Motorhead
- WASP
- 1349
- Napalm Death
- At The Gates
- Immortal
- Devin Townsend
Sonisphere 2011
I can’t recall if anything exciting happened. We had to wait an hour to get out of the car park because Slipknot had to leave first. Gojira and Periphery were definitely the highlights. Oh and Cancer Bats also performed as Bat Sabbath – go figure.
- Joe Duplantier, Gojira
- Frank Turner
- Spencer Stoleto, Periphery
- Bat Sabbath
- Framing Hanley
- Angela Gossow and Michael Amott, Arch Enemy

Kerrang! journo Mischa Pearlman should have been awarded the “Most inappropriate festival attire” as he spent most of Sunday looking like a drowned rat and shivering. No photos of Pendulum thanks to the “first three songs, no flash (although we have no idea why)” rule. No matter, I have provided an alternative visual representation of the performance via the inspired use of the pen tool in photoshop.
- Taylor Momsen, The Pretty Reckless
- Jonathan Davies from Korn
- Craig Owens
- Ben Mount of Pendulum
